Wow wow wow, I think this might be a new favorite in the Twin Cities! Literally everything we got we delicious and we were there for the dinner service - I've heard brunch is potentially even better?! Loved the vibes & decor of the restaurant and it was the perfect quaint, intimate dinner for two on a Friday night. The mini scallion croissants are one of my favorite things I've ever put in my mouth. I loved it so much I got the big version to-go for breakfast the next day! Get the eggroll stuffed chicken, I promised you won't be disappointed! Can't wait to go back!

Super cute space with delicious dishes to eat by yourself or family style. My table got a bunch of pastries to share, which were great. The presentation was on point. All the pastries were super pretty. I ordered the Hmong sausage with egg for myself, which was AMAZING. Crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, served with sticky rice and an over easy egg to top it off. I loved it. Made for a great breakfast meal. If you're not into spicy, maybe stay away from the chili oil. They also serve coffee, teas, and specialty drinks. Our server was nice and basically recommended the whole menu. Parking was easy outside. Overall, a pleasant experience.

This highly coveted dining experience was well worth the anticipation! My friend and I were seated towards the back the restaurant, right next to the private back space. I enjoyed being tucked away as we were able to converse easily and felt comfy cozy. I started off with an iced Thai Tea Latte and I wish I would have gotten one to go as well, it was that good! Our waiter was so friendly and helped guide us through the menu and gave their input which helped us narrow down with options to choose. They took our order all at once and then coursed it out throughout our evening, which was much appreciated. We started with the Mini Scallion Croissants which are an absolute MUST GET. You will want to order another plate, but refuse!! There are too many good eats to come next. We then were served the Steamed Pork Rolls and the Sour Pork Short Ribs. The Steamed Pork Rolls were yummy with both the sweet & sour and the peanut sauce but the real stand out was the Sour Pork Short Ribs. They were so crispy and flavorful! After we were finished with our "apps" they boxed them up for us in real time and then served us the Eggroll Stuffed Chicken and the Bamboo & Cabbage. When you read Eggroll Stuffed Chicken, think Eggroll contents and not the fried wrapper itself. It was the best chicken I've had in my entire life and I am not exaggerating. Another MUST GET! The Bamboo & Cabbage was a nice addition to this chicken. Fun fact, the cabbage is grown on Diane's cousin's farm. Pretty cool if you ask me! Ending the meal, we had to split a pastry of some sort. Our waiter listed off the ones that were left for the evening and we decided to enjoy the Thai Tea Latte filled croissant. It was filled so full that every bite had some of the delicious filling with it. We each also took a pastry to go to enjoy later! (You can get the Scallion Croissants in larger size!) Must Gets: Mini Scallion Croissants & Eggroll Stuffed Chicken

I have been to Diane's Place multiple times for brunch since they've opened and each time has been phenomenal! The interior is gorgeous inside, perfect atmopshere for a brunch date or with the girls! The food is amazing. You seriously can't go wrong with any of the dishes. My favorites are the Hmong Sausage and Sweet Pork Bowl. They are the most popular for a reasons. For brunch today, I got the Papaya Salad. It was pretty good - perfect balance of noodles, papaya and and veggies. My boyfriend got the Spam and Nori Croissant. The crossiant was perfectly baked and went with the spam very well. The service is amazing every time - fast and friendly, all you can ask for! They don't have a parking lot, but street parking is plentiful. Definitely a place I recommend to everyone - 5/5 overall!

I finally got to try Diane's place!!! I highly recommend making reservations - unfortunately, I wasn't able to make one and ended up waiting 45 minutes on a Sunday for their brunch! It's stunning, warm, inviting and cozy inside! Small but elevated space inside the food building. Had so many pastries and food items to choose from. I had the Thai tea French toast, sweet pork bowl, side of Hmong sausage along with a few pastries - Thai tea croissant, sweet pork danish and mango passionfruit & lychee croissant! Highly highly recommend the iced vanilla latte and Thai tea French toast! Two giant brioche slices of bread dipped in Thai tea? Absolutely yes!!!! Make sure to try their whipped cream, it's surprisingly incredible! The only reason why I gave this place 4 stars was that the pork belly was super fatty, and the croissants being $8 each were a bit overpriced in my opinion but I'd definitely be back here again to try their dinner!

The food was absolutely amazing--but beware of the Hmong spicy sauce! I ordered the Hmong sausage with sticky rice, and while it was phenomenal, that spicy sauce nearly took me out--haha and I can eat spicy food....so proceed with extreme caution if you have lower spice tolerance! I also picked up a few croissants to try, and the passion fruit one was hands down my favorite. It instantly brought back memories of the incredible pastries Diane made at Spoon and Stable. I can't wait to go back for the chicken noodle soup!

I've been wanting to try this new Hmong restaurant for a while and BOY. Everything about this cute little NE gem was fabulous. Our waitress was so lovely and gave us excellent recs - though I don't think you could go wrong with anything. The scallion croissants were a must; so buttery and melt-in-your-mouthy. I would say my fav was the Hmong pulled pork but the bamboo and cabbage was a close second. We both also guzzled two of the scrumptious cocktails. I've seen pictures of the bakery and brunch food that look like heaven on earth; returning is a must. Food: Mini scallion croissants, bamboo and cabbage with a curry broth, egg roll stuffed chicken, Hmong pulled pork Drinks: Spirit grass (lemon gin). Strangers at the moxy (tequila and passion fruit)

We're not the type to visit places that require reservations months out but a friend grabbed us some for 8am on a Saturday. I will say 2 things: definitely get reservations, and definitely go early! There's a reason Diane was nominated for a James Beard award and the pastries sell out quick. My friend and I opted to split 4 of the pastries while my wife got the, amazingly rich, Ham & Nori Croissant. The space is really intimate; which is to say kind of cramped. The tables are packed very close together so you should be comfortable with folks walking close to you. It's definitely an A+ date night vibe. The staff was all incredibly friendly and Diane even came by, delivering our sesame balls and giving an anecdote about some recent Bon Appetite reviewers stopping by. All the laminated pastries were really, really good. Super rich, lots of flaky layers, and just the right amount of crunch on the exterior. High quality butter and chocolate. The Scallion & Garlic Butter Danish was my personal favorite. The Mano Passion Fruit Croissant was more of a brioche than flakey, but that's not a bad thing. The cream was an egg custard consistency and the fruit lighted it up so you forget just how rich it all is. It was amazing, but splitting between 2 is the way to go. Star of the show were the sesame balls and salted caramel. They're unfilled clouds of fried, chewy deliciousness. The crispy sesame shell surrounds a crazy light, but still slightly chewy, interior that is perfectly complemented by the dark, salty-sweet caramel. Not the mochi consistency you see a lot of places and warrant a reservation all by themselves.

IF YOURE READING AND DONT KNOW WHAT TO GET. ORDER THE MANGO LYCHEE CROISSANT NOW What an experience. This is what fine dining is supposed to be. I honestly will have to scrape the barrel to tell you anything bad about what I had. I am very suspicious about overhyped restaurants because I show up and the food is meh and I'm out dollars. In this economy??!! I'd rather stay home. lol On to the review. I came here for lunch on a Thursday at 2 and it was busy. My friend made these reservations a month before. Don't kid yourself. You can't just show up. Make the reservation. The service was top notch. Our waiter was super attentive and we were sat immediately. Even offered a coat check! The space is gorgeous. The typical Minneapolis high end decor with light wooed. Textural elements. Plants. You know the vibe. Drink: friend got a cappuccino. I tried their beet non alcoholic cocktail( o forget the name now. But it was made of beet juice. Pineapple and pathfinder). It was alright not too beety. Not too anything tbh. I will have to try one of their cocktails some other time Food: Snacks: we haves and only got two things. The mango passion fruit lychee(MPL) croissant and the coconut pandan. Please for all that is holy. Get the MPL. WHAT. A. TREAT. I need ten of this every day for the rest of my life. Plus it's square??? How they do that ?? I don't care. Give me ten more haha. The coconut pandan was good too and pretty to look at but honestly pales in comparison to the MLP For mains. We had the bean thread noodles and the Hmong sausage. The Hmong sausage and rice comes with a hot sauce that's spicy but in a good way. I like hot. So I was fine but I was shocked because place in Minneapolis like to say something is hot and then it's bland. I loved it. The noodles were in some sauce I need to be sold on shelves immediately. Just pure umami! So good. Sweet. Savory. Yummy I wish I didn't eat my MLP so fast cause I missed it when it was gone haha. Will be back immediately to try more things
